Women, wellness and horses in Kerhonkson

This season, Hudson Valley HorsePlay is offering a three-part series for women to support communication and relationship skills, Jan. 21-March 21, at the farm at 98 Sherman Road, Kerhonkson. “By observing and interacting with horses we can grow our “people skills” such as: making requests, establishing boundaries, setting limits, giving directions, applying and releasing pressure, expressing gratitude, providing leadership, and more,” said Eagala-certified equine experiential facilitator Cori Nichols. “These skills can then be applied in any areas of life: that with children, spouses, colleagues, employees, etc.” Why horses? Like people, horses have different personalities, moods and relational needs. “Unlike people, horses are always honest and nonjudgmental,” said Nichols. “They tell it like it is! When engaging with a horse you’ll know right away what’s working and what isn’t.” Each visit in the series is 40 minutes. There is no riding involved, and no horse experience is necessary. Scheduling is flexible. For more information, registration and cost of the program, call HorsePlay at 845-616-3608 or visit hudsonvalleyhorseplay.com.
