Locals protest fracking

This land was made to be frack free. For future generations: “There were so many people there,” said Jill Obrig, Marbletown Citizens for Renewable Energy member. “It was incredible. People came from all over the Hudson Valley [to the Anti-Fracking Rally held on the Walkway over the Hudson last month]! From Poughkeepsie, to Highland, Hyde Park,New Paltz, Tillison, Accord, Kerhonkson, Marbletown, Kingston. Almost all of the members of the Marbletown Citizens for Renewable Energy (formally the Marbletown Citizens Defense Against Fracking), Rochester Town's Defense Against Fracking people were there. We sang, "This Land was meant to be Frack Free." Children, dogs, the elderly, the middle aged, lots of ages and genders were represented with one voice. Ban Fracking and bring jobs in the Hudson Valley that create sustainable and renewable energies. We also discussed how horrid the infrastructure is being proposed for pipelines up the Hudson river to export LNG (Liquid Natural Gas). The talk continued about TPP and also what is going down with Smart Meters and how people are sick from them. We also spoke of how we have to rev up our campaign for alternative energies in the Hudson Valley. Jobs need to be created for the infrastructure of wind, solar, geo thermal, bio fuels and plant based plastics. New York can be totally sustainable with alternative energies by 2030, so said Marc Jacobs. Visit http://news.stanford.edu/news/2013/march/new-york-energy-031213.html.”
